low output - done a couple things but nothing that seems to have made the big difference. im wondering if its coupling capacitors, cause theres a pair of them in there that arnt marked and are open and look like crap.
i also wondering if its a shorted transistor. which would suck.
works, sounds ok, just heavy on the noise and light on the sound.

Ok, well I can't seem to find that schematic in my filing cabinet, but I'll keep an eye out for it. I know it is around here somewhere.

Look for any power resistors that get hot and replace them. That is a design problem with the 200's and I think with the 140's as well, although I haven't seen those in the shop in quite some time.

Is it broadband noise or 60/120 hum?

If it is hum, check the reedbar supply. Any noise on this supply line will be amplified nicely by the preamp.

thanks for looking brad, im just going to purchase one online - but ill make it available for anyone who needs it -
broadband noise - but the real problem is that the signal level is so low - you can even here it in the console speaker that the volume just isnt nearly what it should be.
ill check out those power resistors!
anythign else you could think of would be great thanks!
