Hi,

I am trying to restore some tascam mx2424 sessions that were stored on DVD RAM drive, so I can transfer the audio into a useable format for someone.    When I pop the disc in the RAM Drive it spits it straight back out again.    I'm following the tascam instructions to the letter.

I have a feeling that the discs have to be quite specific to the drive, & suspect that they might not be the right ones.  The drive has 4.7GB written on side but the disks I have been asked to transfer are 5.2GB double sided i.e 2.6GB per side.

Does anyone have any experience with these drives can give me some pointers ?

I've used exactly two DVD-RAM discs ever.  They were blanks that came with a computer DVD-RW drive, and happened to be bare discs rather than enclosed (in caddies) like a lot of the pictures I see.

Not sure I can help, but I think I still have the drive that read them if you get to the end of your rope and need someone else to take a crack at rescuing the data.
