I have been scouring the switchcraft parts catalog and even sent them an e-mail with no response. But I am looking for  patchbay parts. I am looking for 2 X 24, 1 ru, b-gauge frames, You know the old bakelight that all the jacks would attach to? If anyone has that, would be great. If if it is no longer made or can't be had without buying patchbays. I may have to come up with an alternative method and make some.

Uh - good luck finding anyone that will do Bakelite that big nowadays... It's getting hard enough to source a (real Bakelite/Phenolic) 55mm knob..

On the other hand - are you sure you need Bakelite? Tempetarure/Voltage?

Need bakelight? Good question, I don't think I need it to be bakelight, it's just a patchbay. However I say bakelight because I believe the original material was bakelight.

what I am trying to find is part number for the face plates, so I can dismantle the patchbays I have now using their parts to convert them to 2 X by 24.

so would need a b-gauge  2 X by 24 that fits a 1 RU

Bakelite (note clever spelling).

Use TREX. Plastic composite board sold for house decks. It's not cheap, but is solid, yet easy to saw and drill. Any good cabinet maker can whack it off and drill it to match your example.

H-D has a "similar" product on the rack much cheaper. Don't use that here: it is scalloped on the back to save material, and is generally just solid enuff for decking, not for a highly-drilled rack mount.
