I've been wanting to get Glassware's MyStock database software to keep track of all my parts and things. However, I'm on a Mac and starting VirtualPC just to look for a part seems like kind of a waste of time.

Does anybody know of similar software for the Mac?

Thanks!

Peace,
Al.

Can't you just use any database? Isn't there a database included in OpenOffice?

Best regards,

No, the database that comes with StarOffice (the pay version of OpenOffice) is a proprietary program licensed from a third-party company. Sun was unable to open the source of that particular chunk of code.

MySQL and front ends for it are readily available. The problem is, most are written for either Linux or Windows, and not Mac. A PHP application run from your browser could be made to work, but you'd need to code it yourself.

It seems to me that there is an Access-equivalent available as part of AppleWorks for Mac OS X. That might be an option.

Thanks guys... I think I'll just nite the bullet and get the Glassware one.

Peace,
Al.
