I just bough a scanner and I would like to scan my old audio designs into pdf. I would also like to assemble a single pdf from separate pdf files. I know that Adobe Acrobat can do it but it quite expensive.

Any suggestions for a free pdf software?

Anything that can import the scanned images will work, then you can output the PDF via a printer driver. My favorite PDF printer driver is PDFCreator, an Open Source project here:

It works fantastically.

I already have a pdf "printer" but I am looking for a software that can do little more. By Adobe Acrobat you can scan directly to pdf and also assemble documents. Is it really so that Adobe is the only one that can be used for assembling documents?

Wow that kicks butt! Thanks. I've been wanting to re-install my full version of Acrobat for a while but keep avoiding it due to lack of disk space. @ 32Mb this thing rocks!

Hi Wayne,
Take your time, as it seems we both have other things to do and that can only be a good thing
