Socials marketing strategy caught me again.
The Periscope, a new sound is born. That’s what ad said.
Investigating a little more turns out this is an electret capsule mic with analog compressor built in.
Anyone got news about schematic or specifications to try and built out our own version?
I know it won’t be a ‘use on everything’ mic, but still got me interested in how could it sound.

I would assume like a tube, a tank or a submarine:

SSM2167 should do the trick.

Thanks Analogguru about this tip, i've made a basic test setup with this chip, and it looks promising. The way i see it it has a sidechain input, so de-esser might be an option. SSM2166 might be even beter chip.
