Still waiting for some parts...

All the 3 amp on the signal path can be discrete and there are some
option on line input transformer (Jensen, OEP, Lundahl)
Probably the output amp will be a Melcor with profile output trafo,
not that nice Forssell :) Going for some color here.

Ok, you really have my attention again. Times dates places and....How much will these babies go for? I'm still in the parts collection phase for your API boards. Really nice boards by the way!! This would be a Great compliment to the SSL's. Now some questions, Mono, stereo linkable? Is this a single channel only or can you Stereo link them? Just like the Original What Compressor. I can't wait for more on this. Once again  , very  !!

Can't wait.

Alright, there's no "What" meta, and it's rather a pain to search for for obvious reasons.

So, this is a vactrol opto design. Is it based on the 90's trendy vintage coloration comp line, or something else? And Fabio, when you sell the boards, you are going to include discrete opamp boards in the package, right? Golly, it's opto madness here lately. And I thought I was going to be in VCA land until I hit the lottery.

where did you get them made up?

On the usual fab, next to my hometown...

Mono, stereo linkable?

There's a pad for linking. It's basically the same original from David Thomas... http://dt.prohosting.com/hacks/what.html

I'm really curious to hear it with the OEP and Profile on the way... I will let you know if it works ok.

And I thought I was going to be in VCA land until I hit the lottery.
Same here Bear, don't forget parts down here came 2 times the price you get up there...

cheers!

I think the What was based on the Joe Cheap...
You are on the right lines about the heritage - the words "Joe Cheap" gives a better indication of the boriginal

Thanks Steffen,
hope to make some good 19" cases like yours when I finish all the stuff. :green:

I think the What was based on the Joe Cheap...
True. I have done Joe Cheep and What, both are great but What is a more refined version of J.Cheep...

cheers!

Got a question.
I'll be using a Profile trafo on output. I'd like to wire the 3 out taps to a
rotary switch to have a 'IRON GAIN (0 - 6 - 9.5 dB)'

So it's better to have the top tapper fixed (ORN) and vary the bottom
(YEL+GRN , BLU+VIO , GRY)

or

to have the bottom fixed (GRY) and vary the top taps?

Did it matter in any way?

:?: :?: :?:

cheers!
Fabio
