PM700 Channel Strips - Worth Getting?

Hi All,

Two Yamaha PM700 channel strips have popped up on ebay for not much. I was thinking of getting them and using them in my home studio.

The only thing that puts me off is the mid band of the EQ is fixed at 1.5kHz - can this be modded to give a few more options?

They sound cool, so I'd say yes go for it.

Yes, changing the r/c/l of the mid band is straightforward. Heck you could even make it switchable

I have a complete PM700 that I'm modding the hell out of, including a switch to change the mid frequency. Easily done, I simulated the eq circuit in ltspice to find cap values for particular frequencies but you could just tack in different values and see how they sound.
