Hi guys,
I am looking for service manual and/or calibration procedure of the PMC AML1 speaker.
The pair on my bench exibits weird behaviour.
First speaker has an trouble with the electronics EQ. When bypass everything seems ok. When it is on and EQ set all flat, LF level increase by several dB.
Second speaker shows some distortion in the LF band. When the amp is off, the woofer is moving correctly but when it is on with no input signal it is moving weirdly. When hand pushed it makes me feels like the coil is scraping something inside, like when a voice coil had overheated.
I have contacted PMC and local distributor but no one wants to share schematic / info. Both wants me to send them the speakers.
Anyone got an idea ? Similar issue ? Schematic ? Anything ?
Cheers
G.

Hi Nick,

I work part time with PMC in the U.S.  There are no publicly available schematics for those amp modules, all servicing is done at PMC HQ.

Assuming that your drivers are ok (verify by sending signal from a good known amp) you will need to send the amp modules back to PMC in the UK.

I've probably worked on more of these modules than anyone outside of the UK factory and you definitely will need to send them in.

Good luck,
Ruairi
