so the call comes in for a bluegrass guitar player to play with a fiddle player and for the git player to make a recording of it all,  good for 3 units of pass/no pass class in music at the local budget education facility,

how i got roped into the deal i do not know but the fiddle player passed the class due to some quick thginkin and a local goodwill store,

if you place the mics right, you can record a couple of left/right tracks into a 7 dollar thrift shop vcr coupled with a new yamaha mg102 plus some cheap computer speakers for monitors, velcro it to a chunk of scrap plywood and you have a very portable and great sounding studio with 2 hours of tape that you can record on over and over, put the vcr into slow mode and get a 6 hour acid jam down on tape for 2 bucks, stock up on tape, it is going fast, just like light bulbs,

the stereo vcr tape was dubbed to an 8 track tape machine at home where bass and git solos were added,
turned out a 10 track cd in about a week, 8 track into tascam pro cd burner,

black berry blossom, sally goodin, mississippi waltz, jereruslum ridge, all that hillbilly flat pick stuff that keeps you on your toes, pass the apple jack jethro,

here is a pic of the CHEAP MIX 6000  weight: about 5 lbs, price: about $$$149.95 plus tax, pineapple and paint not included,>

multiple counts of good karma there  :D

cheap but effective and using what is at hand, helping out a musician friend pass a course  and of course, services rendered to the pursuit of bluegrass !

A good days work I would say !

Cheers to you.
