Presonus Eureka - new preamp section

Can anyone think of a way to replace the preamp section of the Presonus Eureka with something better?  Not simply replacing the transformer with a Jensen.  I mean, putting an API, Grace, or some other DIY kit pre in there.

Every time I consider selling my Eureka I end up using it for something, most often as an electric guitar compressor/eq.  Would be nice to put a nice preamp section into it.

Any thoughts?

I'm not saying it's impossible... but it's a wash... with the time and money and labor spent trying to cram a legacy preamp into such a slim piece, you could build a preamp and a compressor.

Trust me, I've been there more than once.
