not sure if the brewery is the right place for this but might as well ask and have the mods move it.
was working on a pro tools 10 hd system with 2 cards and a d-command. This was at a friends studio. For some reason pro tools takes every track and puts it through the surround dither plug in eating up a ton of dsp even though we set the the d-command to monitor stereo and have set up the I/O to be stereo out. This then gets compounded with surround delay compensation eating up even more dsp. I can turn of delay compensation to free up dsp but that creates other major problems.
Any Ideas? I am sure there are people on here more pro tools savvy then myself.
