This Is My G-SSL

My PCB's are isolated from the chassis with nylon standoffs and hardware. All grounding is done through a star ground. And there is also no jumper between the PCB and the chassis. Mine is dead quiet. Maybe you have a loop somewhere.

read Keith's posts. if it really is 50 HZ... rotate the toroid to see if it changes.

make sure Transformer CT goes to Power supply 0V and not to chassis star first.

check board for shorts where the solder may have bridged to nearby point.

if all else fails try using my CRC board on pg 3 of cannakin's link. Mine is dead quiet and then some now.

searching the boards helps too.

Mine is dead silent too (I now have two of them)
Might be a groundloop.

Isolate the pcb from the chassis.
Connect only pin 1 on the left input directly to the chassis.
That works for me at least...
good luck !

Thanks to all For Your Fast Answers

Thanks to you I have resolved

Now it's really Silent ..

The next challenge is The G9 Micpre by Gyraf :thumb:

So what did you find to be the problem? Im curious, and Im sure the info would help a builder down the road.
I built mine solely on info in the archives, and didnt even have a question until I did an audio test.
Gotta love this group. :thumb:

Hi !!!!
Chrome Heart

My Problem was The Master PCB The Ground was not direct

Now I Directly Linked to star ground

Perfect Silence :thumb:

Hi everybody :).
it's been 17 years since last post on this thread...
... :)

I'm having a look at a ssl-clone-comp that i bought some years ago.
I haven't used it yet,
but would like to, now.

I have that hum problem, and would love to get rid of it.

Here are some pictures.
The rear side of main PCB has been adapted, that's obvious...

Would anyone have anything to say about the way transformer has been soldered ?

Thanks, very much, for your help :)

Mat
