Pultec EQP1A3 hiss

Hi,
I own 2 EQP1A3 pultecs and one of them has recently developed a significant hissing/white noise.
Any idea where to start looking for the problem?

Have you swapped the valves with the good one ?

If swapping tubes doesn't do it, it's probably a carbon cathode or plate resistor in need of replacement.

Is there a schem? Do you have any experience with electronics repair? I would try grounding the signal at various strategic locations to norrow it down. Of example, if you ground the input of the line amp, then that would suggest the problem is with the line amp.

Then it’s a 2520?  Change it out.

A client of mine had a pair of these that didn't have 2520's.  I can't remember the make but it was something I think I hadn't heard of before.
