Can anyone recommend some high quality Pots.
Something that is an alternative to the basic Alpha Pot.
I'm not really liking the way Alpha's feel.
Just curious what is the next level of quality.

thoughts?

I just bought a couple of the PEC pots from DigiKey. I got the 2W 100k audio taper ones (KA1041S28-ND). Mechanically they are sort of like the old A-B pots, though not as heavy duty (thinner case for one thing). They feel a bit on the dry and scratchy side to me (but easier to turn than Alphas). The price also keeps going up ($9 or something). Just a data point for ya.

bourns 91 series feel really nice. Ive been preferring 1/8" shaft pots lately though, clarostat makes two different series which are conductive plastic, one in a metal case which is very sturdy and about $11 per at digikey and another in a plastic case which is equally expensive there but only $4 at allied. Its not nearly as heavy duty but its not junky either and they sound ok, for $4 each, these are the best deal out there, you do have to be a little light on the fingers with these pots though. I like them and for $6 less than the bourns 91, there's little argument from me, they are also available in lots of values, seemingly more values than the 91 series.

I see that a lot of these higher quality Pots mentioned above have different Watt ratings 1W 2W etc.

Which watts rating would be good to use in my 1176 clone? for example
