I've just begun the process of building the Gyraf G9. I've etched and drilled my PCB's, found a few parts in my private stash, and am currently compiling a list of parts I need to order.

The one part that is proving surprisingly difficult to find is P1 (101), the 47K Log Pot for the output gain. All of the suppliers I checked (Mouser, Digikey, Newark) didn't stock that type. The closest I could get was a 50K.

Is it O.K. to substitute the 50K for the 47K? Or does someone know of a ready source in the USA for a 47K Log Pot?

Thanks!

This should work just fine. Remember that every component has tolerance ratings. Normal pots can have 10-20% or even more tolerance. So it's ok to use a 50k where a 47k is needed. Just be sure to match the characteristics.

Thanks a bunch guys! I had a feeling, but I just wanted to be 100% sure.

I can't wait to start building this thing!
