Racking Midas XL4 EQs

I am looking at buying an old Midas XL4 for my studio. I only need 24 channels and a friend of mine is interested in the remaining EQ's and preamps. So I am trying to determine the viability of racking them up for him. The preamps seem very straightforward as they are in a separate module. from what I can see the EQs look like they are on their own daughter-board but the service manual is a little confusing in that regard. Does anyone have any experience working with these?

We have cut a XL4 to a full 24ch version (incl mid section). If you cut it smart you can use most materials to create another XL4 24ch sidecar. Let know how i can assist.
