Hi Thomas!

I should point out that I'm greener than the mountain grass in "The Sound Of Music", but...

I asked a very similar question and posted the schematics. I got some responses, and enough info to move forward with my project.

Maybe you should post the relevant schematics and put the link in this thread?

Check out the thread where I asked for help to see what I mean:

Hope that helps get some feedback.

Good luck with it!

I have a strong feeling that on gearslutz a member named "led" posted a very long thread detailing at length a serious overhaul of a M600, and with many photos documenting his work

Gearslutz is down right now so I can't verify this, but if you seach there you might find what I'm talking about - could be useful.

Now i have turn the modules in and out a few times and getting to know the design a bit more, have a couple of modules over i can play with.
guys give me mods !!! i hunger for project :grin:

It is told that for Tascam-Mixers it is always a good idea to do a compelete new grounding inside of the mixer. There was a good description for doing so somewhere on the web. I think that was for Soundcraft 200B or so.

i have not done it my self, already done when i bought it, same with the psu, in the psu they installed a gigant comdenser i photo the psu tomorrow and post it if i remember :? if anybody want to see it ??

Hi,

I've got an M600 (although it's now in storage) but spent a lot of time modding it. These are some of the things I did:

- Upgraded the summing opamps to burr-brown's;
- Bypassed the master bus insert;
- Grounding mod;
- Changed some of the critical caps from electrolytic to poly alternatives;
- Upgraded the power supply;
- Added some reservoir capacitors to each channel card and the master bus.

That's about all I can remember without pulling the thing out. I remember the opamps are SIL NJR's, and I had to make a little board up to accept DIL opamps. All the mods were worth it and in the end made the console sound pretty amazing.
