It is definite;y no good for the output as it cannot handle the high signal levels.

For input, its primary inductance at about 0.5H would be too low and give a very poor bass response.

Thanks Ruffrecords!

So what you recomended!? Cheap ones!?

For the output you could probably use the Carnhill VTB2291. For the input you could probably use an OEP K30A09C. You are prbably not going to get any cheaper than these without seriously compromising performance.

Yes you right! performance is important!

And where I can buy, find this OEP K30A09C!?

Farnell.Mouser,Burklin...?

I don't know. I just looked on their web site to find one that looked like it would do the job. Send an email to [email protected] and ask them.

I've just ended 2 REDD47
1- pcb from Simonez( klozaudio)
2- P2P
input transformer
Beyer Dynamic TR/BV 352 007 004
Ratio 1:7 200 / 10k

output
Carnhill  CA-18-VTB2380 15k:600
Both sounds great!!!
Can be a good choise?

Just one info
how calculate the zobel for input transformer?
Thanks

I have two Beyer trannie, one is 1:10 ratio and another is 1:15!

But thinking that this ratios are too high for this preamp!I dont know!?

And zobel for trannie was explained here in forum try search!

Cheers

If the Beyer 1:10 is intended for input applications I would say you can use it. You will just get 3dB extra gain and the noise level will be slightly lower.

There is a beyerdynamic catalog that shows input trafo zobels.  It is very specific for 1:10 ratios, but you may find it there:

Here is one

If I can use it for input that is good news  Ian....

What about the another one with 1:15 ratio!?

Can be this trannie use for input for this preamp?

Perhaps.  Sometimes old transformers with a 1:15 ratio were intended for the 50 ohm impedance microphones in use at the time so it may not work well with 200 ohm mics. Do you have its part number?

I put jensen JT-DB-EPC DI box transformer on input (1:12), and it's works just great!
