At the moment I am doing some restauration work on a Mackie 32:8:2.
The previous owner internally misplaced some connectors with disastrous results, but the thing is working again!
Unfortunately some paint from the 'armrest' (well... the curved part at the front of the mixer just below the faders) is scraped off.
So I would like to repaint this part, preferably without the mixer attached to it!
As far as I can see, the metal profile is not spotwelded or bolted to the rest of the chassis, it seems there is even some space between the profile and the chassis itself. But it seems impossible to remove it!...
Is it glued? How is the profile attached to the main chassis?
Who knows how to get it off?

I doubt it, but I wil try!

Edit: No movement whatsoever!
I can slide a piece of paper between the frontpanel and the curved profile.
At a certain point I get the impression that there is a piece of double sided sticky tape between the chassis and the profile.
Maybe I will try to heat the profile strip, so that the adhesive becomes weak and try again...
(Or a 'mild' solvent, that will react on the glue, but NOT on the silkscreen of the frontpanel...)

First post EDIT section.

Thanks! Yesterday evening I managed to get it off.
I did put the mixer against the wall with the faders facing down.
The I carefully poored some alcohol between the metal of the front and the curved profile to soften the glue.
Afted that I succeeded (with some gentle force...) to remove the profile.
At the moment I am waiting for the spraypaint to cure...
