Huge loss. I have recently re-watched Bottom and forgotten just how funny Rik was.
Sadly missed, and far too young.
I spent many days as a teenager watching the Young Ones on VHS, over and over and over again. It was a massive influence on a generation's idea of comedy. Real groundbreaking stuff at the time.
The world is slightly less shiny by his absence.

So... here's a story for this thread:
A girl's dad was having his 60th birthday, and she wanted to surprise him with something different, so he bought a completely blank birthday card, mailed it to Rik Mayall, and asked him if he would write something inside it and mail it to her father.
