Does anyone know the details of the famous mod/upgrade to the Roland SDE3000? I have one sitting here on the bench and am curious as to wheter it can be done DIY or is it some special Roland part.

As far as I know it is a sampler mod, so presumably more RAM. I have heard that it is a favourite of Bob Clearmountain, and as SDE3000's are quite sought after I figure someone must know the details.

yep
I think I do remember something about this BUT as I wasn't too short of a sampler at the time I didn't pay attention. sorry.

Are you sure you still want to go that way, with all the other new stuff on offer ?

I think that sounds pretty good to me, unless you'r trying to fly vocals around, lo-fi sampling seems to sit in the mix in a neat way. I have a lot of customers asking me for E-mu Emaxes, Emulator II's and the like just for that crunchy sound.

hey,
Looks like finally I might be able to clear up some room in the garage after all....... Mirage, Emax, W-30, DSM-1, S900.........

Anyone knows where I can get a Obie Eprom Prommer for my DMX and DX, Drumtrax, Linn drum...... steve?

We have a Prommer here in the basement, I'm sure Greg will sell it to you if you want it  It's time you came over for a visit.

Whooo!~
Nice one Steve! :thumb:
What other analog goodies have you got stocked in that analog dungen of yours? memory moog? Moog, Roland & Korg Modular? SCI prophet and Obie 8 voice  along with all that cabinates full of schematics

Gotta warn you though, once I am there I think you might have some problem getting me outta there! :green: Especially I remembered that you mentioned you got a Voyager in stock!? You know I am still trying to recover from that itchy finger disease contracted by collecting analog synth, can't stop twickn' them knobs..........

Seriously, I have been thinking about coming down just didn't want to come down empty handed. Hopefully the 1176 and the SSL would be done by then, since they are way behind schedule  just got way too much on my plate at the moment along with all the 8051 machine code programming and the interface using C....... :?

Luckily I am on my term breaks, so I'll be over may be this weekend or next week during week days. What's better for you? :thumb:

Well, I'm around most of the time, no tours going out at the moment, and I live a few doors along from the shop, so any time is usually good for me. There is a Voyager in there, lots of money for a monophonic synth, but it sounds great.
