Rolling my own MP capacitors?

I cant find MP caps of the tolerance and values I require. What kind of results can I expect from making my own passive EQ caps out of Metallized Paper from large motor start caps? Should they be impregnated after winding?

Would be nice if you do it! I don't know how much precision you can get but you can measure them and select or start adding foil till you get the value, of course you'll need an cap meter... The hard thing I guess it's the dielectric more than the conductor, what are you planning to use?
