Hello

I asked here before on your oppinions on these babies used as preamps, and heard good things. Now, i´m getting the first of four and i´m building a PSU plus phantom power. The Scully run on +24 volts right? any other voltages or is single +24? this is the transistor version....also, i´m looking for a voltage pinout for the supply,i can´t find the supply pinout in the schematics i found in an older post...

Thanks!

Silvas,

The Scully 280 amp units shall have negative 24 volt regulated dc supply, so the positive shall be connected to the amp ground.

Note that you can not use same 24 volt psu to other gear, if you have them connected together with the Scully amps.

Pin. 4= neg. 24 volts input (from negative psu terminal)
Pin. 3= "psu amp ground" (from positive psu terminal)

Here is the orginal Scully 24 volt power supply schematic:

Thanks bo !

Just waiting for the first one to arrive so i can play with it.

I´m planning on building a 1.5amp regulated PSU for 4 units, plus phantom power (running from another transformer). 1.5 amps will be enough? maybe i´ll leave permanent phantom power (as in our beloved neve 8058 console). Is this a bad idea? i mean, the input is (of course) transformer coupled so i can add standard 6k81 phantom resistors on the primary...

Hot is on the left and the 4th pin is negative if looking from the back like this _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
P N
Positive Negative and a 24v DC 3.75amp is what I use
