Hey

i'm looking for a north american supplier for the WIMA MKS4 10µF/63V capacitor. anyone have any leads?

[newark and mouser carry WIMA as non-stocked items, but only up to 6.8µF.]

thanks

Hmm, I can think of two possibilities:

Good luck.

Chris Electronics in St. Paul, probably one of the bigger stocking distributers in the states.

I have three of the MKP4 10uF 160V 5% parts in my junkbox, if they'd be
of any use to you.

from 1998, samples, but unused.

thanks Zach. contacted them...asked them to do a small quantity for me. [min 25, which isn't THAT many but i can't justify it at the moment.]
unless it's a tuned circuit like an eq trap, i doubt you would hear any difference between the 6.8 and the 10.
what about a 4.7? it's for JFPs.

Thanks Dan, i'll keep your offer in mind. i'm looking for 4 though. how do you remember what year they're from!

thank you guys, i've been hunting around for a couple days.

Because they're in a bag marked with the types and date.

Seriously, try Chris on Monday, they have a terrific stock of Wima's.

Their motto is "Purveyor of Mundane Parts" They have caps, resistors, some semi's, but lot's of stock and cheap prices in reasonable quantities.

IF they won't sell you four, send me an email and I'll have Pete send me
samples and then I'll send them on. Or tag 'em on an order or something.

We probably buy $3K worth of parts a month from them. $3 in caps shouldn't be too tough.

Map

Their online inventory lists MKP4 series 10uFd(?) 250V, 800 in stock. No price unless you go through an e-runaround, so a call is probably a better idea.

thanks for the assistance guys. i may have found a local cache. will check it out on monday. if not, i'll call Pete Johnson. chris electronics looks amazing. pretty much the full line of WIMA, and in stock.
