Hi,

I'm a little bit confused on how to set the +4dBu output.

I know that when the meter needle in on the 0, the output should be +4dBm, and so 1.228 volts, but which volts?

RMS volts (Vrms)

peak volts (Vp), or

peak to peak volts (Vp-p)?

Can anyone clarify?
Thanks,
Val

Rms.

Audio level is always measured in RMS - even on quasi-RMS, internally peak reading voltmeters (unless it clearly states "peak", as in headroom and overload levels). But on quasi-rms meters, RMS is valid only for close-to-sine waveforms.
