I built a G7 microphone and I am LOVING it on vocals. I have tried it on guitars but I cannot close mic the cab due to the high output of the mic. I get a distorted signal before hitting the preamp. Unfortunately the preamp I want to use does not have a pad on it. I got the Shure A15AS Switchable In-Line Attenuator hoping to solve that problem. Before plugging it in, I was reading the instructions and saw that it says (This model is not suitable for use with the condensor powering system called "A-B Powering.") Does this mean I cannot use it with my G7? Also, if I can use this, do I plug it in at the xlr input on the power supply or at the input of the preamp?

Here is a link to the Shure A15AS that I got:

A-B power is very rare. What you have is Phantom. The Shure is fine with that.
