For sale is a point to point, 1968 recreation of the classic 1968 Teletronix LA-2A opto compressor.
There are easily $600 in parts here - anyone who has sourced the parts, soup to nuts, for a build of this caliber will understand the cost involved. This is a fully calibrated, perfectly functioning LA-2A compressor with quality parts and an excellent, new (2018) T4B from Kenetek.
-Quality PEC pots for input and GR
-Orange drops through out
-High Quality Variable caps (C4, C14)
-Sprague @ C5
-Variable R25 50k pot for fine meter adjust to match T4B
-Jensen Input and output transformers
-Quality KENETEK T4B (classic style,2018)
-includes all tubes (6aq5, 12ax7, 12bh7a, 12ay7)
-Power cord
Built with care and attention to detail. Shielded wire used through out for signal chain. All AC wires are tightly twisted and positioned next to the case. See pics attached.
Anyone wanting to experiment with modding an LA2A, this is the unit for you. Based on the cayocosta layout, I added the Jensen transformer mods.
This unit is silky smooth and whisper quiet. The face plate is a blank slate for stenciling or other art work.
