Since my transformer, like many others, was defective, I converted it to an electronic power supply, material costs 28 euros Amazon.. result perfect! Absolutely no audible artifacts from the switching network element. The S/N is even 2dB better than with the transformer,
Open Frame PS 230AC - 13,6V DC == DC Filter == then 1. Tube HEATER and 2. from 13,6V a Nixi Power Supply Makes 360VDC direkt to the rectifier +/- thats it

I'm not much of a tech though - so I'm wondering if you could give me a little more details?
Did you replace the varistors? Or does this essentially replace them? Also it's hard to tell from the pictures exactly where all of the wires are going.

no the varistors are not in use, also the orginal transformer is not in use... you sould know about electronics.. so there are high voltage..
