Hello,
one of the channels on my 442 stopped working i only get hiss and no signal, when the gain is up all the way i get oscillation. Everything else works perfectly. Is there anything you could recommend i try before i send it in for service.Since it is discontinued i was wondering if there is a schematic available .

the mixer works fine with a dynamic mic. With a condenser i can hear only sounds from handling the mic and very faint distorted signal if i crank up the gain. So it seems like the phantom power supply is defective. The quick fix is an external supply.
Everything inside is surface mount and coated with clear silicone. I probably shouldn't mess with it

A bad mic cable (pin 1 open) could also work with dynamic mics while not working properly with phantom power.

Thanks John, in this case the same cable works well in 2,3 and 4
