Hello all,

I bought a Soundcraft Delta AVE yesterday, it doesn't come with the PSU, so I'll probably have to roll my own. It's the 16 channel frame so it needs the CPS450 power supply, but it has a round plug not the square one which is in the document in the technical library, does anyone know the pinout of this?

What also strikes me as odd, is that the 8 input frame (also the AVE variant with the VCA's) needs only bipolar 17v and +48, and that the 16 input needs another handful of voltages (+24 bipolar 7.5), does it reallyy use all these voltages or are they used in other consoles?

If anyone has service documents for both the console and power supply that would be most welcome.

I'll start with cleaning the insides, there's a ton of dust and hairs in there, ew.

The need for the CPS450 will have been to supply the additional current required by the higher channel count.

As you have the console and are working on it, you will be able to work out the pin configuration of the connector.

Check Soundcraft's website for tech info.

I have checked the soundcraft website, of course, and couldn't find the documents regarding cps 450, there's one in our own library but that one has a different plug. You are right, it'll probably become obvious when I pull the thing apart completely, but I'd rather be able to test some stuff in advance.
You are also correct about the current, CPS150 is 1,5amps CPS450 is 5amps, but I am wondering about the other voltages supplied by the CPS450, does this board need them?

Apart from this, I would be interested in schematics for the modules, especially since this board has the VCA's fitted.

So, pulled the modules out, to try and vacuum all the assorted hairs, cookie crumbles, dust ash etc etc. out of the thing, it was pretty dirty.

Found out that the 10 pole circular connector uses only 6 poles. VCA's are running on the audio rails as well (so +/-17v). There's a bunch of grounds some of which are connected on the master module, one case ground.

As an aside, I do wonder about the power rating of the internal power cables, is that stuff really rated 5amps? I'll dig what we (I work at TE) would normally use for this. But at least the power supply can be pretty simple, one hefty +/-17v, a +48v, no need for +24v and +/-7.5v.

The THAT2155 VCA's, nice, quite a few of them too.

I am thinking of ripping all of the VCA stuff out, but on the other hand, it could be fun/ handy/ powerful to control this with a sequencer in my modular synth. The VCA control voltage attenuators will need to be replaced on quite a few modules, pretty lightweight stuff, and there's always a bunch of stuff falling in, so they don't feel brand new.

Hi,
I posted it to the technical documents thread. The CPS450 sch is allready there.
Please send me PM if you need more docs for the Delta.
