Hi
Picked up a Soundcraft 24/4/2 Delta DLX from a friend of mine.  Plan was to restore this and put it out for sale... however 8 of the input channels and 1 master channel was dead.  We agreed to not invest the time/money to actually get any cash out of the project.  However, I see the potencial to restore/mod this and use it personally.
I've read quite a few interesting posts on several forums about modding the strips, but not found any information regarding adding the optional input transformer.

Only thing I've found so far is from the Delta 200; use a 200Ohm 1:10, "3300" transformer.  Not sure what company this transformer orgins from tho...

What I intend to do is mostly change a few caps and add the input transformer.  I will not (at least for now) replace the op-amps.

I have 6 strips of D225 channels (SC2911), 14x D201 (SC2775 deluxe input)  both these ch have the optional transformer on the pcb layout

Any help or pointers would be most welcome :)

Would be very kewl if I could swap out a few strips and add ie a couple harrison strips (ofcourse need to solve quite a few bits to integrate two different designs.... but it would be nice to have....)

Found in the Delta userguide.... transformer option Sowter 7026

I've sent an email to Sowter to check.

Got reply from Sowter :)  The 7026 can be purchased as a custom tranformer.  They also kindly informed to reverse the secondary due to incorrect info on the pcb.

Did you ever order the custom transformers from Sowter? I have a 28-frame Delta 8 and I'm thinking about dropping those in on the first 16 mic pres. If you tried them, did it improve the sound any, or just the isolation?

I`ve not yet ordered the transformer, need to finish some other projects first.  I work mostly in 2 track recording, so my dla2a handles most of my recordings (though using an AHB Series 8 @home).

I`m very interested in the result if you order and try it out.  I`m thinking to upgrade the first 8 channels with trafo`s...... and replace 072 with 2072, some recapping and maybe replace the 5532`s.

fist.... finish 4x ez1290..

The Delta sounds very nice as it is,, so it`s on the upgrade/diy list,,, but not top 10...
