Hello,

See attached the schematic and layout for the meter circuit on my Soundcraft Series Two console.  The second meter is no longer responsive - the meter itself is good if it is fed with another channel's signal so mechaincally it is operating correct.  The issue I believe is somewhere in the circuit as the transitor voltages are way off...

If you see attached the transitor voltages should be:

Base 16.9v
Collector 38.7v
Emitted 16.8v

Which is approximately what I have on all of the working channels.  However on channel 2 I have the same voltage on the base, collector and emitter:

Base 39v
Collector 39v
Emitter 39v

The meter sits at about -10 vu and does not respond to program material.

I have checked and double checked all of the components - I have swapped them all out and tested them... I have changed transistors... all to no avail,  Clearly something is wrong but I just for the life of me cannot find it.

Ideas as to how to can get the correct voltages aroudn the transistor - I'm sure if this was correct the meter would work...

Let me know!

I'll try that agin but I have tried 3 different transistors… all with the same result and voltages.

Turns out it was the transistor that was bad… you were right John.  I just swapped with a know good one and voltages are all correct  :-[ - should've done that first!
