SPDIF switch?

I want to make a simple switch for 4 x SPDIF I/O (RME, Emu sampler, TC Helicon and 1 as a reserve)
Can this be done with RCA connectors and a simple rotary 4x2 switch or do I have to take care of something else for a error free digital signal?

I can't see why you couldn't just switch, although you may have to switch off the reciever whilst you switch. (just in case it has a crappy reciever chip that can't resync).
