I recently got a bunch of transformers while some of the audio ones where on Joel's list here there are still some others I am unsure as to their purpose in life.
Can anyone help by either A) sending me a spec or B) filling me in on what "common GroupDiy" project they could be used for?

After I figure out what I want to keep I will probably post some in the Black Market but not until I figure out what they are first.

Here are the unknowns: (so far ... more to come)

UTC A-11
A line to grid audio matching transformer (Input Transformer)
Pri. 50/200/500(600): Sec. 50KCT, 20-20KHz
Low Imp to 1 or 2 Grids

UTC A-21
(Input Transformer) or (Interstage)
Pri. 50/200/250/500/600: Sec 50/200/250/500/600 20-20KHz

UTC 0-9
(Output Transformer)
Plate to Line “Ouncer”
Pr. 15K : Sec. 50/200/250/500/600

Peerless 4772
Microphone transformer 150, 38 : 50,000

Triad HS-1
(Mic or Line Input Transformer)
Pri. 62.5/150/250/600 : Sec 77,000 20-20KHz
This can be used for mic or line to grid.

Triad HS-56
(Universal Line to Line) or (Interstage)
Pri. 62.5/150/250/600 : Sec. 62.5/150/250/600
Found inside the Pultec as Interstage

Triad HSM-80
Output transformer
Pri 20K/5K : Sec. 600/250/150/62.5
Output of a Preamp?? Which ones??

Triad JO-3
Mini input ?? 600, 250, 50 : 60,000

Sescom MI-5
Line input ? 150, 600 : 15,000

Sescom MI-6
Line input ? 150, 600 : 30,000

Triad TY-302P
Telephone interconnect 600 : 600 275Hz-3.5Khz

Triad TY-47X
Mini Output transformer 2000 : 4, 6 , 8

That's all for now. Anyone have the specs for these or know what projects they are ideal for here???

Thanks

Whoa I didn't realize CJ had amassed such a big Meta with all known specs....

Anyway if anyone wants to contribute to the second question please let me know what any of these could be used for. Specific to the Known Group DIY projects.

Thanks

Yeah, sell the A-11's as well and take better vacation. :green:

Man, this is a classic colection. Really, look around and you won´t find it hard to figure out what to use those for... That´s what I wuld do:

UTC A11: any pushpull tube mic preamp.

UTC A21: use with a very low noise discreet opamp for a nice micpre, like forssell or 990.

O9: this one kind of sucks, but you could try it reversed for mic input into something like a S. Hampton JFP module.

4722: any tube mic pre. Might be a good candidate for an api 312 kind of thing.

triad HS1: Any nice tube mic pre, classic circuit.

triad hs56: pultec eq

hsm 80: vari mu compressor output for sure. Have a look at the collins 26-u2 circuit

JO-3: use as a crappy and nice colored tube mic preamp input. Have a look at old RCAs schems with pentodes.

MI5/MI6 : nice discreet mic preamps, maybe... with fet at the first stage. Or two more tube units, I´m a tubey guy.

ty-302P and ty-47x : trash those, or send it to my adress and I´ll find a way to use it.

Lot´s of work to be done with those man..

I'm offended by the inference.

Trying to figure out if either the Sescom MI-6s or the UTC A-11 from above could be used a the MIC input to my 1073 clone.

As far as I can tell the 1073 circuit needs a lower impedance on it's input closer to 4800 ohms

While the MI-6 is 150/600 : 30000 ohms
and the UTC A11 is 500 : 50000 ohms

the orginal Neve 10468 was 1200 : 4800 ohms

Will these work or is the impedance too far off?

you are driving the base of a bc184c, right?
so anything that will drive that base, without it dragging the trans down.
how much bais current thru that first base?

30,000 into the base, i do not know what will happen, try and see, experiment, to get new sounds, mistakes lead to new products...
