Hello,

I saw few link about improvment if the Alesis 3630.
What I find good with the 3630, it is possibilities of the front panel to optain 2 separate compressor input.
If I compare with the SSL4000 COmpressor, the 2 input are mixed for the signal detection and they bring the
same control signal to the 2 input... Is it a good solution?
Please explain me if yes...

May be the Alesis 3630 is not the best comp.
To install the DBX 2150 inside and the THAT VCA as well is may be a good improvement.
But, what about installing a DBX 202?

Thanks for your help,

Francois

Hello,

Yes, I noticed that the detection is done in mixing the 2 inputs..
So, not really a stereo detection.
What is the reason?
For exemple, the DCL 100 from summit audio detects independently for each channel...

Could you please explain me?

Thanks,

Francois

If I get you right, you are really taking about the GSSL.
That's the Gyraf version of the SSL mixbus compressor
but not identical!

The GSSL combines the two channels for a single side chain detection
where the original use two separate side chains.

It's mainly for use on a stereo bus or as a (stereo) master compressor
and not really as a dual mono compressor.
(What I think you are after..?)

Al lot of information you'll find in the METAs,  GSSL and "Turbo" threads that
Keith (SLLTech) already pointed out.

Regards,

Anders
