Hi,

I have done quite a bit of reading and pretty much understand the SSL clone building process, but I am looking for additional schematics for the balanced sidechain insert and return circuit and the bypass switch relay circuit.

Also, I've noticed on the original SSL FX G-384 that the sidechain is input key only. What is the purpose of the sidechain insert and return jacks?

Any help provided would be greatly appreciated.

The return jack will allow you to trigger the compression from a source other than the main audio path of the compressor. For example, you may want to lower the level of the bass only while the kick is happening (ducking). Run the bass through your main path, and run a mult from the kick into the sidechain return.[/quote]

Thanks drpat for your response. Of course I may be wrong on this one, but I thought the return jack is output from the ssl clone not input. Therefore, the signal could not be used as a key input source. As far as the schematic goes, I was looking for the complete schematic that includes the input and out circuits to illustrate a true type bypass switch. In other words, I would like audio to flow through the unit even when the unit is powered off.

I think i saw exactly what you are looking for (pcb layout for universal bypass relais ckt???) from IJR . I don't have the external link at hand, must be somewhere buried in this forum...(?)

don't know if this helps really :?

kind regards

Martin
