Hi People,

I`m enjoying my dual pultec eq (thanks gyraf!! photos somewhere in the forum...) but I`ve found I`m using it mainly for stereo aplications and is a bit of pain setting both eqs at time, so I`m ready to build another dual eq, but this time for stereo operation using only one control set.
I know I must use dual gang pots but what to use for switches? I`m confused about positions , poles and decks... I think I must look for "2 deck" versions of the switches but not sure... Looking at mouser catalog Lorlin don`t seem to carry them, can anyone point me what part number would work?

Also may be I could add another band or two using the NYD passive eq chart so its an easy way to add abit of gain to the Gpultec amplifier board?
Thanks!

Synthi.

Hi Synth,

For stereo operation, you can't use the lorlin PCB-type switches - you'll have to use multiple-deck (wired) types for that - not available from Lorlin.

If you put your location in your profile, it's easier to help you with sourcing questions.

And no - there's no spare gain available in the SRPP amplifier of the GPultec. If you want more eq happening, you'll need extra gain stages. And then you could as well make it an eq by itself, stand-alone.

Thanks Jakob,

Hmm, I think you can see Madrid, SPAIN next to my avatar (right?)

Do you know a specific vendor part numbers for those switches that can work?

Thanks again,

Synthi

Damn - I'm pretty sure that that didn't show when I posted - sorry

In EU, German Monacor has some inexpensive multiple-deck switches for wire mounting - including 4x6-types.

no prob Jakob

I`ll try to contact monacor. So, just to be sure, I`ll need 6-pos 2-pole 2-deck switches, right?

Best Regards,

Synthi.

I'm thinking about rebuilding my Gyraf Pultec into a dual Pultec with just one set of controls.

I'll use the stereo switches from Monacor that Gyraf suggests but I cannot find all the pots in stereo.. anyone know where to get 1K and 2,5K stereo pots and is 0,1W pots to low effect??

anybody know where I can source switches for a stereo pultec in the states. I want to build a mono version and a stereo version. Please help me out.

I am bringing this up because i am also interested in making a stereo version with only one set of controls. Did someone successfully use any of the above mentioned switches?

thanks

Yes, I did one with the Monacor types (MANY years ago).

For stereo-on-common-controls, you'll probably want to split low-boost-freq and low-cut-freq into two separate switches, makes switch demands easier. And gives greater control.

I know it is a really old thread, but.
I've bought the suggested switches from Monacor, have no problem with wiring, but I can't see the "numbering" on the pins.
Is it possible that the pinout is the same as the Lorlin ones?
