Have been messing a bit with the 31267 transformer now hooking it up backwards but i am not getting it to work.
I hook it up backwards using only one coil on each side but i can not get it to be stable in one rebuilt 1271 lineamp.
In another i got it stable (this one had a zobel on the output coil, the other did not) but had about a 40db loss compared to a 10468 in the exact same 1271 module.
Do i need to terminate the other coils in any way to get it to work properly?
Don't wire it that way, even tho Desol and JLM audio who he prob got it from said. Just wire it backwards with both coils. That is how they were wired in the older dan alexander and brent averill 1272 racks and sounded just fine, even tho may not be technically as close, if you lose hum cancelling and get other weirdness, it is not worth it. The other way is better then. Neither way will sound exact same as 10468 anyways, so why lose hum cancelling, just go both coils wired. And you can correct the imped in other ways, no one really cares they just wont want hum noise. There are other ways of doing things. And I dont care this is a 10 yr old thread. Updating info for reference is what is important, no one cares if a response is long after the orig post, they just want info when they search, they are not looking at the dates and dont care, just want to know about wiring 31267 backwards. Do it like dan alex and brent ave did, it's fine, I have had tons of those. Better than losing hum cancelling
