I aquired 6 TAB V372/1 modules, great! They even work...

Although they seem rather different if compared to each other. I'm a bit confused by this because their (supposedly) serial numbers are not that far apart...

v372-1%20Six-Pack.jpg

- Nr. 628: v372/2 PCB with single output transformer and NTP M100C opamp
- Nr. 749: v372/2 PCB with single output transformer and NTP M100C opamp
- Nr. 757: v372/2 PCB with single output transformer and NTP M100C opamp

- Nr. 807: v372/2 PCB (v3.85) with single output transformer and NE5534AN opamp
- Nr. 808: v372/2 PCB (v3.85) with single output transformer and NE5534AN opamp
- Nr. 950: v372/2 PCB (v5.85) with single output transformer and NE5534AP opamp

The first 3 (group 1) are very similar, as are the last three (group 2) although they do show a difference in components, like tantalum caps used in place of the red Roederstein EK casp in some places. The main difference between the two groups are the missing NTP 100C opamp. although it doesn't bother me, I would have liked 6 of the same build.

That the PCB's used for the v372/1 notes "v372/2" doesn't seem so strange as there's only one difference between the two, single transformer opposed two output transformers. But the Kubart files do not contain a v372/2 schematic that compares to mine...

Any thoughts?

The first 3 have similar designs, not to say the exact same, and carry two sub-pcb's v372e and v372a. The v372e PCB is used in all six preamps. The v372a carries the NTP DOA.

The last three in this lineup again bear very similar topology, Nr.807 and Nr. 808 are the same! The PCB's have a green soldermask opposed to no solder mask on the previous three...

The v372e module has not been changed from what I can tell, except a different choice of components.
The v372a module however has completely changed from the NTP M100C to the NE5534AN topology.

Nr. 950 shows Tantalum caps where the two 22uF/40V RDE caps are located and RDE bakelite caps where the electrolytic caps stand. And I just noticed that the bridges are 0 ohm resistors instead of wire-bridges...
