Accidentally connected the internal speakers at wrong polarity. At least one of the speakers. Could this make this unit to burn? Well, I got a lot of smoke when re-powering.. Opened it only to put four rubber feet back after a repair 5 years ago tIMG_6459.jpghat I forgot about then. It has worked good since then. Now it rolls fine, but all audio is super low.

Reversed speaker wire wont do any harm at all ,
sounds like you have other problems ,
a burnt resistor might point to the failure ,
Look out for electrolytic capacitors where the seals have bulged or leakage has occured .
