Hey guys,

I have this old Tascam 564 Minidisc 4 track here that doesn't seem to bus left at all...not to tracks, and not to the mix buss.  When you press the master R switch, signal does show up at both meters and outputs, but when you press L there's nothing...thinking it's not as simple as the switch since tracks don't route either.  There's a lot of stuff in these things, and I was hoping it would be something simple like a ribbon cable but not having any luck...has anyone repaired these or every come across an issue such as this?

Any help much appreciated!
Thanks,
Sig

My primary suspicion would be a bad solder joint. Especially something connected to the plug boards. Try to narrow it down by looking at the block diagram in the manual and playing with the settings. Then open it up and see if you can make sense of what boards correspond to the block diagram and finally check continuity with a multi-meter to find bad solder joins and generally inspect the board visually for a broken lead or whatever.

Gotta find the block diagram or schematics if I can...

There is sooooo much in there haha.  I've had it torn apart for hours scouring everything.  I'll keep looking...

Thanks!
Sig
