I just bought two of these 16 track tape machines, one is missing the tape heads and is for parts only. The main one I would like to use works great but the capstan motor is considerably noisy. So I would like to take the capstan motor off of the parts machine and swap it out, because it is as quiet as a church mouse. Has anyone had experience in doing this with this particular tape machine? Or is there something I can do to quiet the other one?
