Hi, im recapping some channels on this one. I was thinking if the is something i can do to beef up the PSU or just some tips regarding the unit. I have basic understanding of circuits.
I forgot (i know i cant drop in a bipolar opamp in a single ended circuit) and put a ne5532 in the place of the rca 4559. It worked. I wonder why?
I upped the values from 10uf to 33uf on the coupling caps. It made a noticable change in bass respons.

I have some new caps and a collection of wima caps and a tube of ST TL072CN. Dont know if that would do anything good to this console? I like the sound and have no problem keeping it org. But the change in bass response made me think maybe there stuff one can do.. i have lots of wima 1uf caps.

There was one thing also. The eq is LC w bands switchable between 75 & 200 on the lower and 3k & 10k on the higher. If i change the values is it ok to use whatever Cap i can find at home or does some type of capacitor sound smoother in this type of circuit?

First place to start is a schematic. With that we can better advise what component changes might make an improvement.

Cheers

Ian
