Telefunken V74 troubles

Good day to you all... is there anyone out there who is a specialist in Telefunken valve equipment ? I have a TAB V 74 which I bought a few months ago but only got around to wiring the thing now ... unfortunately there is absolutely no sound coming out of it ? The switch led lights up and the valve is glowing brightly but no matter what signal I put into the V74 there is absolutely no sound. The wiring is correct - I have checked from two different sources - and therefore something else must be wrong. The V74 looks like it has been recapped recently and the caps look in order with schematics ... Any hints as to what could be causing the deadly silence. (by the way there is not even a sound in the speakers when I switch the V74 on and off ... nothing but silence...).

I would really appreciate any assistance that can be rendered because although I can recap and change resistors , etc. I am not a technical expert.

Start with the power supply.
Check you B+ voltage.

Thanks gentlemen , I'll give your suggestions a try - I seem to get some sound but the volume is very low and distorted.
