It was fortunate that the chambered bullet didn't fire, and he didn't have more ammo or better training.

Not the first time would be victims have stood up to terrorism, but they rarely find themselves in a fair fight. Without his weapons the odds turned against him.

I recall hearing a story about some mugger who stabbed an off duty marine who was out on the town with his friends.  The police report said that the mugger tripped on the curb and broke both his legs and both arms.  :

To my knowledge, here in france today, we have a least one person that take bullet, also the guy caring lot of cartridge.
This five or six pple (including two american) just avoid a massacre...
