This one is so low-end, apparently I was lucky to get a throttle. (My low-low-end lawnmower lacks a throttle.)

Interesting machine. In the 1970s or earlier Honda sold a 4-horse one-banger with inclined cylinder (OHV but perhaps based on a side-valve engine). Most notably it was sold with a gear-reduction for easy drive of a cement mixer, but also direct shaft output. Also notable: con-rod dipper oiling (like a 1939 Hudson Eight).

Honda still makes it, at around $350. Quite long design-life for such a competitive field.

China makes good copies at under $150. Exact fit. Also rated more cc (but Chinese custom may differ from others).

Any yard-machine touting "208cc" is this engine. It is also made in vertical-shaft for toe-cutters.

They find favor in go-cart and mini-bike racing. The true Honda is notorious for long life in cement mixers. At <2" stoke governed at 3,800RPM, it *should* live forever. Apparently when racers take the governor off, it goes faster and still doesn't break. Stock power isn't rising past 4,000RPM (small valves) but there are ways.

If customers had brains, a simple lever would select from 100% gasoline to 100% booze. I agree this would not work for most customers.

My "electrical system" is a magneto, a kill-switch, and a headlight (which is really a tail-light bulb). (Oddly the same machine without a headlight sells at higher price.)
