Go to Resources, and you'll see some schematics, including the Mackie (and the Amek I was talking about earlier). Note that this is the VLZ version which is apparently different than the older version.

This indicates to me that the original 1604 (pre VLZ) had some RF interference problems - thus the rather large amount of filtering on the board.

i have 2 of the older Mackies and don't recal smt on the board when i had a peek in there,
I could be mistaken as i wasn't really into DIY/mods when i looked.
I find these pres better sounding as the newer VLZ's btw, they also distort very musically i find.

I know I posted this b4 in another thread but I will say it again. Mackies are the worst consoles/mixers in general to do work on. It will take you alone a couple of hours just to get the thing apart mainly due to it being one long PCB and everything surface mounted via pots,etc,etc. When we would get them into the shop would do warenty repair as often as possible because it's more hassle then what it's worth. Alot of times it's better just to replace the mackie vs have it fixed. IMHO modding a mackie is polishing a turd the end result is a polished tured. :green:
