I regularly watch Steve Lehto's videos on YouTube.  I am not a lawyer so his commentaries are useful (and often entertaining) to me.

The outcome of that lugnut case is beyond comprehension.

By extension....you have a house built and it caves in because the builder neglected to use nails to hold the rafters together.  The builder "performed" the job, but did not complete it.... so the builder is off the hook.
