I'm working on racking up my Telefunken V76's, and I just put together JLM Audio's AC/DC power, DI kit, and mic go-between kit.

The kits are jaw-droppingly precise. I was a little nervous about how small they are, but each piece fits like a glove. Joe just did an outstanding job designing these kits.

From the time I ordered them to the time they arrived was about 4 business days. That's from Brisbane, Australia to Mill Valley, California.

And Joe was incredibly attentive to my specific needs, swapping emails back and forth over phantom ramp-up times with old units like the V76. He threw in a different resistor and capacitor to give me a 2.5 sec ramp-up instead of the standard 5ms.

It'll take me a couple more weekends to actually get all the hardware racked up, but I'll post pictures then. In the interim, just wanted to mention that I'm another happy customer. Looking forward to doing his V99's in a project or two.

yeah
Joe is one of the good guys
and
he is a pretty smart fellow to boot

I count him as one of my friends so I guess that would make me a little biased.
... but you get that

We just got two di / go-between + power supply kits from Joe in yesterday, haven't opened the package yet, but I'm really excited on how this will turn out. Would you mind sharing the values for the extended phantom ramping times, that would be excellent!

Joe put in 2 x 1000uF 50v caps to replace the 10uF 50v ones and 2 x 2.2k resistors to change the 470ohm ones that are closest to the cap on the PCB. This will give you 2.2 second power up and very long power down.

Just so you don't get confused, that's for 2 go-between units. You need 1 cap and 1 resistor per unit.

Note that the bigger caps are a tight squeeze for the board - for one of the units, I'm bending the cap down at the leads to fit properly next to the V76 unit, but no big deal.

Thanks!!
I probably won't need the longer ramping for the current project, a v372 and a V672, but when I rack up my V76 and the two V72 preamps, I really want to go for that!

cheers, Marten

Thanks for the kind comments everybody

If you have any different needs for any of the kits feel free to let me know as we can easily add a couple of parts while packing the kits to send to you. We have already done custom kits for the Go Between to be used with a Langevin AM16 to give it a variable 45dB input pad. And using the pad switch as a high gain 10dB boast switch to boast the gain of the AM16 to 55dB. And another for people to switch DI input impedance between two values for using with piezo pickups.
